Keeping an eye on a teen’s driving through apps
Many things can be challenging for parents when it comes to keeping their teen drivers safe on the roads. One is getting a firm idea of how safely their child is actually acting when driving. This can be an important piece of information for a parent to have, as it can indicate what driving safety lessons it might be particularly important for them to get across to their teen and whether they need to make any changes in the driving rules they have for their teen.
While parents can keep an eye on their teen’s driving conduct when they are in the car with them, there traditionally hasn’t been a way for parents to easily get an objective picture of how their child acts behind the wheel when they aren’t along with them.
However, it appears that technology is changing this. There are apps that can monitor a person’s driving habits and provide information and alerts on how safely they are acting behind the wheel. Some parents are asking their teens to have such apps on their phone.
How common do you think use of such apps by parents to track their teens’ driving habits will become? What do you think are some of the best ways for parents to use the information they get in such apps to help encourage their teen to drive safely?
Another situation in which what information a parent has can matter a lot is when their child has been hurt in a motor vehicle accident. There are some key decisions related to compensation/insurance matters that can come up for a parent following such an incident. Having the right information when making such decisions can be crucial. Skilled personal injury attorneys can help Nebraska parents with their efforts to stay properly informed on the details of an accident in which their child was hurt and the legal options that are available in relation to the crash.
